si-Cluster

The si-Cluster is a dynamic and steadily developing industrial cluster for innovation in Greece that has as its aim the development of industrial and scientific excellence in specific fields of space technologies and applications. With intense focus on the Attica region and structural elements of an ecosystem that can produce and attract high level of research, development and entrepreneurship, it competes, at a European and national level, in a rapidly developing market such as the one of space technologies and applications.

Special emphasis is placed on the combined use of GMES, mSatCom and GNSS technologies with ground available data, in the fields of border security and critical energy installations, as well as of coasts and agricultural crops monitoring.

In the scope of its participation in the specific scheme, NEUROPUBLIC participates in the ACRITAS cooperative project that aims at the research, design and development of Earth-Observation integrated applications, utilizing and combining data and space technologies. NEUROPUBLIC is the task leader of the project’s parts that pertain to data fusion and data validation of the applications that concern agricultural cultivations.

In the scope of application development, NEUROPUBLIC will on one the hand research the capabilities of combined use of satellite images with geospatial data for detecting change in the agricultural land within the framework of the eligibility rules that the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) stipulates, and on the other focus on the development of automated methods for crop identification (crop monitoring) aiming to support the controls for the agricultural subsidies.
