NIVA is an Horizon 2020 project that aims to contribute to the modernization of the common Agricultural Poly (CAP) by providing a series of digital solution, electronic tools and good practices for e-governance.

In short

Paying Agencies from 9 E.U. member-states join forces in order to realise a new vision for the Integrated Management and Control System (IACS) – the tool for CAP governance.

The aim of the project is to support the acceleration of the efficient CAP payment management, to promote the use of data for the purpose of monitoring agriculture’s social benefits for the climate, and the environment, and to promote rural development in order to improve the sector’s viability and competitiveness.

NIVA will make use of the Copernicus satellite programme and Earth-observation data, but also define the proper mechanisms for increased interoperability among different subsystems, such as open data, agricultural holding management systems, modern agricultural equipment and field sensors.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme, under Grant Agreement No. 842009
