Development of a Biosensors’ Microsystem for the Selective Detection of Pesticides

In short

The project aims to develop the necessary technologies for the rapid, automated and selective detection of a specific number of pesticides applied through spraying in greenhouse crops. The main objective is to leverage smart farming for greenhouse production through an automated system based on innovative and highly sensitive biosensors, which will be integrated in an autonomous microfluidic system.

The proposed system will encompass modern electronics and specialized software, thus allowing the direct and reliable determination of one or more plant protection substances. In view of sustainable production, holistic monitoring of the greenhouse will also be possible by integrating the system in an IoT hardware platform and its respective cloud infrastructure (gaiasense system).

The MICROBIOFARM project (Code No. ATTP4-0325463), which is coordinated by NEUROPUBLIC, is co-funded by the European Union and Greek national funds under Action “Research and Innovation Synergies in the Attica Region”, in the framework of the Regional Operational Programme of Attica 2014-2020.
