Invitation to online demonstration of “Digitizing Open Field Vegetables” Flagship Innovation Experiment on smart farming

NEUROPUBLIC, the Agricultural University of Athens, Marathon Bio-products and gaiasense (as a Digital Innovation Hub) are organizing an online workshop on the application of smart farming technologies in the case of open field organic vegetables.

The event takes place in the context of the Flagship Innovation Experiment #26 “Digitizing Open Field Vegetables” of the EU project SmartAgriHubs.

Flagship Innovation Experiment 26 mainly focuses on monitoring and optimizing the production of organic open field vegetables by applying IoT technologies, proximal and remote sensing as well as developing prediction models. The demonstration will inform you about the gaiasense smart farming system which follows an innovative approach in offering smart farming services as an inexpensive service with zero technological investment for farmers.

This Smart Farming System provides (IoT and EO) data-driven advisory services on fertilization, irrigation and pest management, aiming to optimize the use of inputs such as water, fertilizers and pesticides while increasing farm yield. We are going to showcase the application of smart farming technologies in the open field broccoli cultivation at the “Marathon Bio-Products” facilities.

The event will take place on Tuesday 11 May 2021, between 14.00 – 16.00 and is open to everyone interested in attending.
